A Measure A Day Keeps The Self Doubt Away

When we don’t want to, we’re too tired, too cold, too poor, too overwhelmed, too whatever we have to make a decision, yes or no? Here’s a great measure for those decisions:

Did we tell ourselves we would do it?

Is this something that is time sensitive?

Does it create something positive for us or for others?

Using these measures to determine its importance helps us clarify our thoughts. For me, I told myself I would quit my everyday addiction to potato chips, so when the craving came on, I listened when I said, “I said I wouldn’t, but”, and put them down. My Inner Child was at once frustrated and glad that my words to myself were no longer empty promises. Our words to ourselves and others matter, standing behind the compassionate and positive ones is exactly what can change our lives for that imagined, happy future.
