Broken Glass & Tender Feet

We have been trained to freak out over the little stuff. There is a song by Annie Lennox that always got to me… Walking On Broken Glass. All the little stuff is the broken glass. We keep dancing around on our tiptoes, freaking out over all the broken glass. The thing is, all those little things really are just little things. There is no broken glass, but for the trauma in our hearts and our minds. But we can’t get to this by just hearing it. It takes patience and work. But it’s worth it. The broken glass is swept away once we learn what it is, gain our confidence, self-respect, self-love, and become mindful in our daily lives. I do not say this lightly. This is not for the faint of heart. Nor is the trauma we have already experienced or that we may be going through now. That is not for the faint of heart either. So I hope you take courage and use that same strength that you have been putting into surviving and direct it now toward living and thriving.
