Freedom From What Others Think

Don’t take it personally. There’s probably no other single sentence that could be more important. It’s a horrible sentence to hear coming from anyone. But the fact is that anything that someone says to you, for the most part, is not personal. It is their belief , it is their understanding and view of the world. It is their upbringing. It is their experiences that they’ve had up until this moment in Time. It is the understanding they’ve developed from those they hold close in their lives. It is an amalgamation of everything they experience, feel, think and understand. It is how they understand. So, yes, it’s true, don’t take it personally. It has absolutely nothing to do with you, even when they’re talking about you.
