Second Chance

When was the last time you did something that you later questioned? We all do this. It’s normal. But many times it’s wasted on worrying about it. When we choose to heal ourselves, we can use these times to self reflect and capture what insight comes to us. Looking at it from a perspective of what caused us to take that action in the first place, we can look deeper and see where it roots back to. Sometimes we can trace it all the way back to childhood. When this happens, we have just unearthed gold.

By knowing the root cause of our actions, we are able to easily spot situations that bring those things up for us. After we have identified the root cause, then we can spot those “trigger” situations and see them in a new light. We can see them without over the top emotions about them. Just because people call them triggers, doesn’t mean we have to pull at them. It also doesn’t mean that the situation will suddenly become a wonderfully happy event for us, but it does mean that we can choose to see it through a completely different lens, so our world is not one of pure reactivity, but instead, one of healthy, chosen direction.
