Someone Else’s World

As a creator, I often think of my artwork when I think of creation, yet I write blogs every single night!  I live life with creativity. Looking up into the clouds, I notice shapes of animals and people, in the windstorm I notice trees waving at me, saying hello, while driving, I notice the way the afternoon sun hits the telephone wires…and it is all so breathtaking. Creation is not just about art. We create our lives every day, every moment. When we walk from our cubicle to the lunch room, every step we take, is us making a decision to create what we’re experiencing in that moment. Are we going to notice the way the rug is indented from the foot traffic? Will we notice the color of the walls? Will we see the light that needs to be replaced and flickers in such a way as to create a feeling? Will we see those things, as though we are the Director of our own movie? Because we are. The things that we have held tightly to, those beliefs from when we were kids…will we ever stop and think about if they really suit who we actually are or if they are just someone else’s projections of what the world is? I recently had to do this. I had taken an assessment test, and realized that the qualities it told me I had, I genuinely believed I did not. I had told myself the opposite for so long. I had to take a good, long look and understand that yes, I did possess those qualities. They were qualities that I was happy to have an assessment test tell me I had! But that’s just the thing, why did I need an assessment test to tell me this that I “should” have known already? We are all like this. This is the human condition. It’s so difficult for us to see ourselves as we actually are because we are so convinced that we are something we were told we were when we were little, we are stuck in someone else’s reality. When I finally accepted this, I had to really look at everything I was doing and everything I was not doing. With this new information, I had to check to see if I was on a path that suited me. My choice as a creator (which we ALL are), is to remain open to what comes to me, to express it out in the way my higher self sees fit. So, though I do artwork, my biggest creation is my life. It’s an ongoing flowing river of puzzle pieces where some pieces seem like they fit yet the flow of life changes their position to show the right pieces how to stop   trying to fit in the wrong section. Remain open to who you are. If you become too set and tell yourself that you are not this way, but you are that way instead, you will miss out on so much. Let the events of your life change you. It’s OK. We are not here to be silent stones, immovable, and solid. We are meant to stand up, walk and talk and bend and move. Let it all change you. Don’t worry, your spirit knows who you are and if it is your decision, will keep you on the right track, no matter how much you change. Allow the creation of you and  your life to be bold, daring, interesting and beautiful.
