The Implausible Light

When we are in the midst of emotional and mental abuse, it can feel like the Light has left us. We are left in the darkness of misery and feeling trapped. Many things take place in the darkness… anger, depression, fear, hopelessness. It seems a never-ending battle that is never won…by us at least.

But there is Light in that darkness, tiny glimmers of something better, something filled with Love and Joy. It seems implausible at the time, even, absurd, and an offense to consider because it seems so untrue. When we get to this point, this is the time of fruitfulness. It is the time when life changing decisions are made. It is the time when extreme effort is poured into doing what it takes to make it out, and not just make it out, but to thrive doing so. Some of us need to stay in this state longer than others in order to make that decision. Just know that it’s there. It might be the only thing you need to know right now. Those glimmers of something better are always there, waiting, in the darkness.
