The Smear Campaign

“Hey man, did you hear about Lisa? That’s messed up, what she did. She really screwed him over. What a bitch. She’s gonna get what’s coming to her. Karma’s a bitch. No. I don’t know her personally. Why do you ask? Look, 5 different people told me, that wouldn’t happen if she didn’t do it. Why are you trying to stand up for this bitch anyway? You into her?”

An hour later, to someone different, “Hey man, did you hear about Lisa? That’s messed up, what she did. She really screwed him over. What a bitch. She’s gonna get what’s coming to her. Karma’s a bitch.” And on, and on, and on. He relentlessly rallies people into his unfounded world of Hate, at the moment, directed at Lisa. He is swept up in the fabricated tale of Lisa from a Narcissist's Smear Campaign. He doesn’t know it’s not real and, with his upbringing being one of parents relentlessly pitting one sibling against another, he finds it quite normal. He has never questioned these things. He has been brought up to believe that the other persons’ reality is true, not his. Every time he expressed his Truth as a child he was mocked, reprimanded, hit, or made to feel small. His life was filled with gaslighting yet he doesn’t realize this. He hasn’t learned these terminologies and he has absolutely NEVER questioned if his current values are

even his, or if they belong to someone else. He doesn’t know it, but he has given his own Power away. If you ask him however, he would vehemently disagree.

Later that evening he calls a friend, “Hey man, did you hear about Lisa? That’s messed up, what she did. She really screwed him over. What a bitch. She’s gonna get what’s coming to her. Karma’s a bitch.”
