You Are Now Complete

Updated: Nov 14, 2024

It’s the season where the Canadian geese are seen migrating south for the winter. Not once have I ever looked at geese flying above me and thought that they were doing it all wrong! They really should be certified before they try doing that. They obviously don’t know what they’re doing. I just can’t trust them because they are so uneven! This is something I have NEVER thought…EVER. As Trauma Recoverers, we often go through life, searching for those parts of ourselves that we believe to be unworthy or missing entirely. We may have begun our journey into certifications of every type. This however, is an addiction to proving ourselves, both to others and to ourselves. One certification leads to another which leads to another and we believe that we still are not enough and need another one.

There are plenty of people who have created certification plans so that this never ending need can be met. You can find certifications in just about anything now. I have nothing against learning more. It is how we grow. But when will we understand that we are genuinely quite capable as is? Do we believe ourselves incapable to accomplish this task that we would like to do? Certifications are just fine if we are genuinely trying to learn. But once we get into the realm of “I don’t think I could do it”, this is where the outward search for inward worth becomes evident. Stopping to take stock of your genuine talents, along with examples, can really help with this. Please don’t sell yourself short. You are a powerful child of the Universe and only you can complete that which you have chosen to do. You already have this within yourself. Seeking approval of others through endless certifications is not always the right path. Learn for yourself, not for someone else.
